Want to know more about us?
My guess is that if you are visiting this site, you already know either Jeff or Jill (or both). But, if you just happened upon the site and are curious, here is some information:
Jill
I was born on February 6th 1983 in Boston, MA to Richard and Nancy Sartorelli. We lived in Wakefield, MA for a short while, and then called Chelmsford, MA home. The first couple years of my life was spent in a raised-ranch on a culdesac (like Jeff!) in Chelmsford, and soon I had twin brothers, Jonathan and Jeffrey.
After a few years when I was about six years old we moved to our current house (also in Chelmsford). It is on a quiet street near a pond and a cranberry bog. Growing up there I enjoyed playing outside with other neighborhood children and I loved to ride my bike and rollerblade. A good portion of my summers were spent at Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire at my Nana and Papa's cottage. That was and still is one of my favorite places to go to get away.
In high school I was manager of the boys track team, but mainly focused on school. My favorite subjects included English and Spanish. I also enjoyed music and going to concerts in my free time. When I was around 14 years old I was an assistant counselor at Freeman Lake Day Camp. I enjoyed working with children, and my time in college reflects that. I also had random babysitting jobs, and I worked part-time at the Paper Store in Billerica, which was a Hallmark card / gift / book store.
In September 2001 I started college at the University of Rhode Island. I went in undecided, and took the first year to get some general electives out of the way, and figure out what I wanted to do. Soon I had decided on a major in Communicative Disorders, and a minor in Psychology. I took courses in Language Development, Phonetics, Hearing and Speech Science, Functional Neuroanatomy, Communication Processes, Clinical Methods, Rehabilitative Audiology, and what seemed like a million other interesting topics. Still, I was able to graduate a semester early, in December of 2004.
During my time at URI I met Jeff Wilhelm. My freshman year I lived in Heathman Hall, where he was an RA, and on the first day of school we were introduced. We became good friends as time went on, and about 6 months later we started dating. He is an amazing boyfriend and I'm so grateful to have met him so young.
One of my most worthwhile experiences during my college education was the time I spent as a Speech Language Pathology Intern for the Trudeau Early Intervention Program. I attended home-visits and daycare groups with certified speech language pathologists and other professionals in related fields, assisted with therapy procedures and related paperwork, and collected information on early childhood development. I learned a lot during my time as an intern, but above all it helped me realize what I would like out of my career.
Currently I am in pursuit of my Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, and will hopefully begin classes in September of 2005. I am excited and look forward to what the future brings!
Jeff
I was born on October 28th 1982, about seven and a half weeks premature. I was born to Robert and Linda Wilhelm, and after the first few weeks things were pretty normal.
We lived in a quiet suburban neighborhood, the kind that's great to grow up in. Located on a culdesac in Windsor, CT, I used to love walking up and down the street with my parents, and throwing rocks in the many sewers. I think my first word was "sewer." Soon, I had a sister, Amy, born March 7th, 1984, to play with.
As I grew older I started school, and we moved to a new house, also in Windsor, where my parents still live with my other sister, Melissa (who was born on February 21st, 1990). It is located in a development that used to be a golf course, so the yards are large, and the land is flat. Growing up there was pretty normal as well.
I became interested in music while in elementary school, learning clarinet and playing as much as I could. I was in the school bands, and during the summer I played in a summer band as well. I also did a lot of theatre, which I enjoyed. At this point I was becoming interested in the computer as well.
In middle school I continued on with the same activities: I was in concert band and jazz ensemble, and enjoyed biking as well. While in middle school I created my first website, and explored the internet and local BBSes as well.
Things were pretty normal growing up all-in-all. School, boy scouts, friends... Summers were spent in Windsor and up in NH on Milton Pond, where our family has a lake-house. Tubing, fishing, water skiing, hanging out with the family....
In high school I was quite musically active as well, both in school and out. I was in wind ensemble, concert band, jazz ensemble and marching band. I was communications vice president and then president of our USY chapter, in the Hanefesh region. I was president of the history club, president of the computer club, editor-in-chief of the newspaper, in the music honor society, participant in the FIRST Robotics competitions, and a participant in the ThinkQuest competition. All-in-all I kept pretty busy.
I went to URI (University of Rhode Island) for college, and graduated in May of 2004. I was an RA (Resident Assistant), a mentor, communications vice president of Hillel, member of the CBAC (College of Business Advisory Council), only student member of NETAG (New and Emerging Technologies Advisory Group), and of course a student. I actually spent quite a lot of my remaining free time doing consulting projects, under the summit7solutions umbrella. Balancing consulting with work as an RA, schoolwork and all the rest of the stuff kept me busy, but this work building my resume was rewarded after graduation when I began working at MarketModels.
When I started working there I was still a student -- November of 2003 was when I first stepped foot in the Wickford, RI offices. As time progressed I was hired full-time (April, 2004) and eventually traveled to and from the Westminster, CO offices a few times. I was hired as a Data Production Engineer, and was soon transitioned into the role of IT Manager, and then promoted to my current position of Director of IT.
OK, so now you know all about me -- let me tie this all together and tell you how I met Jill. While I was at URI I was lucky to meet the most amazing girl, (yes, Jill!). I met her my sophomore year, while she was a freshman, and we have been together ever since. After I graduated we moved into an apartment in Wakefield, RI; Jill graduated in December, 2004, a semester early. She is currently applying to graduate schools for Speech Pathology, and we are hoping she gets accepted to URI!
So that's my story... if you want to know more you can contact me!
